Privacy Policy

Information you provide directly:

• Your email address, to sign you in via a passwordless magic link and to send you account/order emails.
• A photograph, only if you choose to upload one to personalize your cover.
• The story details you type into the generator (name, club, what happened, and similar fields).
• Payment information when you buy credits - this is collected and processed directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically:

• Basic usage and performance data via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (e.g., pages visited, general performance metrics). This is aggregate/anonymized analytics, not used to individually profile you.
• Your credits balance and order history, so we can apply the correct number of credits to your account.

• To operate the core service: generating your golf magazine cover from the information and photo you provide.
• To authenticate you (magic link sign-in) and manage your account and credits balance.
• To process payments for single covers and credit packs.
• To send you transactional emails (sign-in links, order confirmations, support responses).
• To monitor and improve the performance and reliability of the Services.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
• Only if you submit a cover from "My covers": to post it on Fairway Weekly's social media accounts, under Section 24 of the Terms of Service. We keep the date of each submission or withdrawal as a record.

We use a small number of cookies. Necessary cookies keep you signed in and remember your language choice - these are required for the Services to work and cannot be turned off. If you allow them, we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Services are used, and marketing cookies to power social sharing features and, in the future, advertising integrations.

You choose which categories to allow the first time you visit, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. We do not load analytics or marketing cookies unless you have allowed that category.

If you upload a photo, it is sent to our AI image provider (OpenAI) as a reference to generate your cover, and is stored temporarily in our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) only for the duration of that generation. Once the generation completes - whether it succeeds or fails - the uploaded photo is automatically deleted from our storage. We do not use uploaded photos for any purpose other than generating your cover, and we do not use them to train AI models.

The generated cover image itself (the output) is retained so you can access, re-download, and share it from your account, and so our support team can help you if something goes wrong with an order.

We share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the Services:

• Vercel Inc. - hosting and web analytics.
• Railway - runs the background process that generates your cover.
• OpenAI, L.L.C. - generates the editorial text and the cover image; receives your story details and, if provided, your photo; it also receives your generated cover to suggest example ideas for animating it.
• AI video engine providers - generate the animation of your cover; they receive the image of your already-generated cover and the text you write to describe the animation.
• Cloudflare, Inc. - stores generated covers and (temporarily) uploaded photos.
• MongoDB, Inc. - hosts our database (accounts, credits balance, order history).
• Stripe, Inc. - processes payments for credits.
• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) - sends transactional emails (sign-in links, order/receipt emails).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

We retain your account information, credits balance, and order history for as long as your account is active, so you can keep accessing your past covers. Uploaded photos are deleted automatically right after each generation completes, as described above. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your Rights" below). Animated videos are kept for 60 days from their creation and are then deleted automatically from our systems. We do not use your covers, your texts, or your videos to train artificial intelligence models.

The Services are hosted and our service providers operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Services from another region with data protection laws that differ from those of the United States, your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, to withdraw consent, or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@fairwayweekly.com; we will respond within a reasonable time and, where applicable, within the time required by law.

If you submitted a cover for our social media, you can withdraw the submission from "My covers" as long as it has not been posted. Once posted, email privacy@fairwayweekly.com and we will remove it from our accounts within 5 business days.

The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must not upload a photograph of a minor.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Services. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
